Adobe’s new AI features are coming to Illustrator
Developed Ideation – The tool enhances idea generation by creating user-friendly images and ideas that can be easily shared and understood. If the design resonates with the stakeholders, it serves as a starting point to bring the idea to life and continue its development. Adobe has trained its generative AI, Firefly, on Adobe-owned images and images in the public domain. Its upcoming features are expected to begin arriving in Adobe’s products from later this year. To make your image bigger, extend its canvas and select the empty area you wish to expand. Then AI will create a seamless extension of your scene, blending it naturally with the existing content.
The Generative Fill release, which went live on Tuesday, uses Adobe Firefly to act as an “AI co-pilot” for customers, the firm said. It follows several similar tools released by AI startups in recent weeks that appeared to challenge Photoshop’s dominance in the photo editing space. Adobe is injecting AI into its Creative Cloud with the launch of Firefly—a collection of generative AI models that will create images, text effects, audio, vectors, videos, and 3D for you.
Legal issues: trouble ahead for Adobe’s competitors
This allows Firefly to generate new images based on a few descriptive words supplied by the user, or modify/expand existing images to fit the brief. Maria Yap, the vice president of Digital Imaging at Adobe, genrative ai gave me a demo of these new features ahead of today’s announcement. As with all things generative AI, it’s often hard to predict what the model will return, but some of the results were surprisingly good.
Removing objects is one thing, but what about replacing them with something entirely different? With Generative Fill, you can create things that were never in the original image. For instance, in a photo of a genrative ai fruit-filled table, we can easily replace an apple with a pineapple. Generative Fill generates a seamless and convincing pineapple substitution by selecting the apple and typing Pineapple in the text prompt.
What’s The Best Way To Use Video On Social Media?
Adobe this week announced that its artificial intelligence (AI) art generation tools, collectively known as Firefly, are being added to Photoshop. Notable for Photoshop is Firefly’s Generative Fill tool, which fills in or expands an image based on a text prompt you give it. The AI can also extend an image by guessing how it looks beyond its edges, add or remove objects, generate image-based letters, and recolor vector art. As a videomaker in the 1980s, I needed to lug a large camera that was plugged into an even larger (and heavier) video recorder. When it comes to being creative I’ve always happily adopted advancements in technology, and I view AI-generated imagery as another welcome development in a long line of change. One concern is the potential over-reliance on Al, which may diminish the human touch and
creativity in the process.

As a responsible technology partner, Adobe adheres to its AI ethics principles and supports Content Credentials, which provide transparency and information on whether content was created by a human, AI-generated, or AI-edited. These credentials act as “nutrition labels” for digital content, ensuring proper attribution and helping users make informed decisions. Firefly is the latest addition to Adobe’s family of creative generative AI models, taking content creation and modification to new heights with precision, power, speed, and ease directly within workflows. Adobe has just unveiled Generative Fill for Photoshop, integrating Adobe Firefly’s generative AI capabilities into design workflows. This revolutionary feature allows users to easily add, extend, or remove unwanted content from images using simple text prompts.
Photoshop unveils ‘extraordinary’ AI that transforms your pictures with a text prompt
One of the tools works like DALL-E or Midjourney, allowing users to type in a prompt and have an image created in return. Firefly streamlines the editing process with features such as instant time-of-day changes and the ability to add custom subtitles and title cards. These capabilities enable video professionals to bring their creative vision to life with unparalleled efficiency. Firefly was trained on Adobe Stock images, openly licensed content and public domain content, where copyright has expired.
At launch, the company has released the first two tools that are part of the family of creative generative AI models. One of the tools is a text-to-image AI generator that works much like DALL-E and Midjourney, while the second tool is a stylised text generator that works much like the AI-powered WordArt launched by genrative ai Microsoft. Adobe’s family of creative generative AI models, Firefly, launched six weeks ago. It quickly became one of the most successful beta launches in Adobe’s history, with beta users generating over 100 million assets. Since its launch, Firefly has been expanded to support vector recolouring and generative fill.

To strike the right balance, it is important to view Al tools as complementary to human expertise rather than a complete replacement. Leveraging Al’s strengths in efficiency, data analysis, and intelligent interactions can enhance the AR creation process. However, human creativity, intuition, and critical thinking remain invaluable in delivering immersive, meaningful, and impactful AR experiences. It’s perfect for
brainstorming, testing AR ideas, and conveying messages in meetings or presentations.
